Perimenopause

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The perimenopause is the time of the climacteric that is one to two years before and after the actual menopause and can be described as the actual "change".

The perimenopause is finally followed by the postmenopause , which describes the period before senium - from the age of 65 - with the decline in further estrogen production . Since the menopause itself can only be given retrospectively with certainty - after the "last" menstruation no more menstrual bleeding for a year! - The perimenopause itself can essentially only be determined by the physical and psychological problems of the woman during this period.
