Life

On June 23, 1973, Peter C. Manz was ordained a priest in Augsburg . In 1973 he was first an assistant priest in the parish of St. Peter Neuburg an der Donau and then in Lauben . From September 1973 he was chaplain in the parish of St. Georg in Augsburg for three years . In 1976 he was chaplain in Memmingen, St. Josef . From September 1978 he was teacher of religion in Sonthofen , from October 1980 teacher and from 1985 a senior teacher at the high school in Sonthofen. From January 23, 1985 to 2001, Peter C. Manz was a member of the Priestly Council of the Diocese of Augsburg, among other things as its spokesman. In 1986 he was appointed senior student councilor and at the same time deputy director of the specialist academy for parish pastoral care in Neuburg an der Donau . On September 1, 1990, Peter C. Manz came to Memmingen, St. Josef, as a pastor. In 1998 he became head of training for priests. On September 1, 2000, he was appointed cathedral capitular and head of the association pastoral department of the diocese of Augsburg. Three years later, in 2003, he was appointed Episcopal Advisor for Caritas and Social Affairs and also Diocesan Caritas Director. At the beginning of 2016, Manz resigned as Chairman of the Caritas Council and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Diocesan Caritas Association; his successor is the Augsburg vicar general Harald Heinrich .
