Petros Ovsepyan

Petros Ovsepyan (born June 4, 1966 in Baku , Azerbaijani SSR ) is an Armenian composer of classical music.

Life, career and meaning

He received most of his musical training in the United States at the Manhattan School of Music and Indiana University. He studied with Gianporolo Bracali, Harvey Sollberger, Eugene O'Brien, Claude Barer and in Amsterdam with Theo Loevendie . Petros Ovsepyan has won several awards including BMI (1992) and ASCAR (1992). He currently lives in Germany. In 1995 he was a Fulbright scholar at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam.

Petros Ovsepyan is looking for his own language, which consists of sound, silence, its expansion and an interactive space. He is also interested in B. Avet Terterjan for the feeling of a common ritual, of closeness.
