The steam locomotives of class G 4 III were freight locomotives of the Palatinate Railways , which from 1906 were transferred to the Royal Bavarian State Railways as the head office on the left bank of the Rhine.
history
In 1896 the Pfalzbahn decided to purchase two locomotives with a 1'D arrangement in addition to the existing Mallet locomotives of the G 4 II class . The two machines modeled after the Bavarian E I built. As an experiment, they were equipped with double cylinders of the Sondermann type. This version did not prove itself and was replaced by equipment with conventional cylinders .
