Phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde glue

Among phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde adhesives is meant to DIN 68141 two-component adhesive systems which as condensation products from phenol - and resorcinol with formaldehyde can be prepared and cured by polymerization.

Phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde adhesives are briefly referred to as PRF adhesives (glues).

PRF products are used, among other things, in constructive glued wood construction to produce load-bearing, glued wood components in accordance with DIN 1052. In contrast to urea resin adhesives , they have a dark brown to black glue joint and are suitable for moisture-resistant gluing.
