Phonoroid
Phonoroid is an American-German folk duo. The band was founded in 1995 by singer, film and video director Vanessa Vassar together with guitarist and music and video producer Axel Heilhecker . The style of the band lives from an atmospheric and pictorial reinterpretation of traditional folk and country elements. Vassar's vocals and Heilhecker's guitar are accompanied by sample collages and avant-garde electronic sound patterns. The texts are prosaic in nature. The duo, accompanied at times by percussionist Harald Grosskopf , received wide media coverage and performed in Germany and the USA.
