Pieria (wife of Danaos)
Pieria ( ancient Greek Πιερία Piería , also Πιερεία (ς) Piereía (s) ) is one of the wives of Danaos in Greek mythology , to whom she bore six daughters. Their traditional names are: Aktaia , Podarke , Dioxippe , Adyte , Okypete and Pylarge .
After the mass wedding of the 50 daughters of Danaos with the 50 sons of Aegyptus , at which lot decided on the pairing, the daughters of Pieria also killed their husbands on the wedding night.
