Plautilia
According to legend, Plautilia (also: Plautilla) († around 66 in Rome ) is a witness to the martyrdom of the apostle Paul and is venerated as a saint .
According to legend, Plautilia is the mother of St. Flavia Domitilla (who, however, was actually a daughter of Domitilla the Elder) and the sister of the consul Clemens . She is said to have been converted by Peter and then to have met Paul on his way to his place of execution and to have given him her veil so that he could cover his eyes with it. Paul had promised her that she would get this veil back and that Paul should have actually appeared to her after his execution and brought back the veil, which is now blood-stained. Plautilia is said to have died peacefully later. Their bones are said to rest in the Roman basilica of Santi Nereo e Achilleo . Her feast day as a saint is May 20th .
