The Policlinico militare di Roma “Attilio Frigeri” , also known as the Policlinico militare del Celio , is the central military hospital of the Italian armed forces . It is located in the Italian capital Rome , in the Celio district , at 50 Piazza Celimontana , a few hundred meters south-east of the Colosseum .

The hospital belongs to the area of ​​responsibility of the General Inspector of the Military Sanitary System and is operated by the Army Medical Service with the support of the other branches of the armed forces. It has 13 departments. The hospital provides medical care for soldiers from all branches of the armed forces and, if necessary, also for civilians. Italian soldiers wounded on missions abroad are mainly treated in this hospital or medical care is provided by its staff abroad.

The hospital was provisionally established in a convent in 1873. The building complex, which is still in use today, was built between 1885 and 1891.
