Posada dels Olors
Posada dels Olors is a former mansion in the Spanish municipality of Artà in the northeastern part of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca . It is used as a retirement home.
location
The building is located in the northwest part of the old town of Artà, on the west side of Carrer del Pou Nou street . On the street side, there is a garden in front of the building.
Architecture and history
It was built in the 17th century and has been rebuilt several times. It long served as the residence of the influential Font dels Olors family . Its current appearance is based on renovations in the 19th century that were intended to demonstrate the power of the family. The three-storey building is divided into two parts. The inner courtyard between the building sections was converted into a garden. The family's coat of arms can be found on the facade. At the rear of the property there is a patio that has been converted into another garden with several old cisterns .
The building was later given to the city of Artà through a donation from the owner, who used it as a municipal retirement home.
