Poseidon is a submarine cable for the offshore oil and gas industry in the Eastern Mediterranean . It was designed in 2012 in cooperation between the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta), the state communications provider of the Republic of Cyprus , and Radius Oceanic Communications (Radius), a company specializing in fiberglass connections for offshore platforms.

The 800 km long system forms a ring around Cyprus and extends into its exclusive economic zone . The Cyta submarine cable land stations Pentaskhinos and Yeroskipos are used by Poseidon as LAN connections. Radius wants to offer a complete communication package for existing and future oil and gas drilling platforms.
