The Post Structure Act ( Act on the restructuring of the Posts and Telecommunications and the Federal Post Office abbreviated PostStruktG ) is a German federal law of 8 June 1989. The entry into force on 1 July 1989, the Postal Reform legally implemented.

It divided the Deutsche Bundespost into three independent public companies with partial special funds :

  • Deutsche Bundespost postal service
  • Deutsche Bundespost Postbank
  • Deutsche Bundespost Telekom

The political and sovereign tasks were the responsibility of the Federal Ministry for Post and Telecommunications , the Infrastructure Council, the Federal Office for Approvals in Telecommunications and the Federal Office for Post and Telecommunications. The entrepreneurial and operational tasks were the responsibility of the three companies. In this context, the Bundespost lost its terminal monopoly .

The postal reform was carried out in 1994 and the structured public companies on the privatization prepared with effect from 1 January 1995th This led to the establishment of the stock corporations
