Powermetal.de
Powermetal.de is a German online metal magazine that not only deals with Power Metal , but also with all types of hard, guitar-oriented music, as illustrated by the slogan "The Power of Metal , Rock and Gothic ".
In 1997 Georg Weihrauch registered the Powermetal.de domain and started a private homepage there , which dealt with some heavy metal bands, among other things.
In 1999 this private homepage was converted into an online fanzine for fans of rock, metal and gothic.
Weihrauch Medien Verlag was founded in 2004 and has been publishing Powermetal.de ever since. Georg Weihrauch took over the position of publisher, Elke Huber became the new editor-in-chief.
Currently around 50 music lovers from Germany , Austria and Finland write for the magazine and provide it with new news and reports every day.
Over 30,000 articles (reviews, interviews and concert reports) are available in the archive. In addition, there is an event calendar, a forum , competitions, photos that can be sent as virtual postcards and a newsletter . Another category is the heavy metal Paintbox : make here two musicians from the scene fictional album cover for each other, which followed a contest to be supplied. Readers can also write their own reviews on the subject of record covers, some of which will be published under the heading Music for the Eyes: Album Art in Focus as part of a competition. Furthermore, there is the series Metal & Gothic - portraits from the scene , in which scene-goers and readers are presented with their lifestyle inside and outside of their subculture , as well as a newcomer column under the title One Nation Underground .
In addition to musical topics, the team also reports on films and books, with the book corner being transferred to the book magazine Buchwurm.info in 2003 under the editor-in-chief of Andreas Jur.
But Powermetal.de is also active outside of the Internet . With the Night of Power , a one-day festival has already been carried out twice. Together with metal.de, a concert is organized every two months at the LKA Longhorn in Stuttgart , and a newcomer contest was held together with the online community Kwick .
In addition, Powermetal.de presents the major German heavy metal festivals Wacken Open Air , Bang Your Head and Summer Breeze and carries out autograph sessions and meet and greets at the presentation stands on the festival grounds .
