Prefamen

A prefamen ( Latin praefamen ) is an introductory word in the liturgical part of the Catholic and Lutheran divine service that leads to and introduces a reading of the Bible (Epistle or Gospel reading ) . The Bible text to be read is located in its context or important preliminary information is given to understand the Bible text.
