The Praça de São Paulo is a square in the municipality of Misericórdia in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon . It opens south of Rua de São Paulo .
The image of the square, laid out at right angles, is determined by the facade of the Igreja Paroquial de São Paulo on the west side, which was built in the 17th century and rebuilt after the earthquake of 1755 . In the center of the square is the obelisk-shaped Chafariz do Largo de São Paulo . The Quiosque no Largo de São Paulo was built on the eastern side at the beginning of the 20th century .
