The PreLex database made it possible to track the development phases of all official documents (proposals, recommendations, notifications) that the Commission transmits to the legislative bodies (Council and Parliament) or other bodies and institutions. Access to the database was free.

Structure of PreLex

Each dossier in the database contained the respective stages (transmission to the Council, EP opinion, formal adoption by the Council, etc.) At each stage, persons (MPs, Commissioners, etc.), services (Directorates-General, Parliamentary Committees) and documents (COM Documents, official gazette, etc.).
