Presentismo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A presentismo is an allowance that is paid in Argentina by the employer to the employee if the employee has not had a day of absence in the respective month. Since sick days also lead to the elimination of presentismo, employees often go to work sick. In 1999 this allowance was used as leverage to counter striking teachers. In many Argentine provinces, the portion that was only paid out when there was 100% attendance was more than half of the total income of teachers.
