Electric radial crimping pliers for press fittings

A crimping tool or pressing machine is a manually, pneumatically or electrically operated tool for producing a press connection , such as by press fittings in piping systems.

How the radial press works

Press fittings for pipe systems are pressed by applying a high pressure that acts radially over the entire circumference of the fitting. The shape and diameter of the press jaws surrounding the fitting must be adapted to the respective connection system. Electric presses have press forces of up to 100 kN. Usually it is audibly and visibly indicated that a complete press cycle has been run, i.e. H. the jaws were pressed together to the end stop. An incomplete pressing process can lead to leaky connections. To get jammed pressing tongs - z. B. in the case of pressing jaws that do not match the pipe diameter - to be able to open again, the pressing tongs can usually be reversed.

With hand-operated pressing tongs, very long levers are necessary to apply the high forces required.
