PrintoLUX process

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The PrintoLUX process is a process for producing medium markings that are used in industrial marking .

History of origin

The company PrintoLUX GmbH , which developed and introduced the process, is named after the process patented in 2008 and available since then . With the process, metals, plastics and foils can be digitally printed with resistance suitable for industrial use. The variety of possible uses and ease of use have quickly made the process a popular option.

Components

Essential process components are: selected and certified sign materials, special printing systems, standard label software for all labels to be produced, highly pigmented, water-based special inks, pretreatment products and thermal units for thermal curing.

Work steps

The three work steps that have to be completed when using the PrintoLUX process consist of:

  1. the pre-treatment of the PrintoLUX-certified material,
  2. printing
  3. and thermosetting in a thermal unit belonging to the process.

During the thermal curing process, the ink penetrates the printed material. A chemical bond ( cohesion ) is created between the ink and the sign material, which, in contrast to adhesion as a physical superficial application, leads to a high level of resistance. After hardening, the labels are ready for use. The process works with certified sign materials in order to enable results to be optimized with regard to durability and display quality. The maximum printing area of the printing systems offered for this purpose is 320 mm × 540 mm. Formats of up to 1400 mm × 1600 mm can also be implemented using the printing service. During the printing process, multiple labels are used to increase efficiency.

application

All available printing systems can be controlled from Windows- based applications. No protective devices are required when using the method. In addition to the water-based inks, all other components used are also harmless in terms of health and the environment. Since the process works without noise, it can also be used in an office environment.

user

The main user sectors for the PrintoLUX process are plant and mechanical engineering, automotive and automobile production, as well as the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
