Private Law Codification

A systematically structured overall regulation ( codification ) of private law is called a private law codification . It claims to finally regulate the matter.

In the major codifications of the German-speaking area, however, only civil law was dealt with. The most important civil law codifications are the German Civil Code , the Austrian Civil Code and the Swiss Civil Code . In Switzerland, however, the law of obligations was regulated in a separate OR .
