Protocol Adaptation Layer (PAL) ( PAL for short ) is a term from computer science .

It is a network protocol for FireWire over IEEE 802.15.3 , the standard for Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) .

Based on ultra-broadband technology, a transmission rate of more than 20 Mbit / s is used.
