Source paper

As a source of paper , it refers to a paper which is coated on one or both sides with a strongly swelling fiber to swell upon contact with water, thereby indicating the influence of moisture. Source paper was u. a. offered by various companies in the handicraft range as McQuell (painting with watercolors and then depiction of the painting as a half-relief). Swelling paper is also suitable as an indicator for leaks in areas that are difficult to access. The swelling paper should not be confused with the similarly functioning but technically different swell paper .
