Clear throat

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A throat button is a button that offers the option of temporarily turning off a microphone . Especially when it comes to live broadcasts on the radio, this prevents the person speaking from clearing his throat or coughing. It is also used to briefly speak to other people in the recording studio without being heard.

The throat button can be located directly on the microphone, as a single button between the microphone and amplifier or as a button on the mixer. In addition, the recording channel can be muted on the recording device.

The throat button can be implemented as an interposed button or as a remote control.
