Gasp
Röchelruf is a name for an emergency call in which the caller is no longer able to give his name and address. In order to be able to send him help anyway, the data of the caller is made available to the emergency call center via the phone number. This option is especially important for the European emergency number 112, in Germany also for the special number 110 for the police.
This expression became famous with the commercialization of Voice over IP (VoIP), here the Federal Network Agency decided that the Röchelruf must also work over it.
