Die Rabaue are a music group from Grevenbroich , which became known mainly through numerous appearances and successful titles in the Rhenish Carnival . The band moved to Cologne in 2016.
The band name (in the singular: Rabau ) means in the Lower Rhine dialect Rohling or Raufbold , from the French ribaud = jack.
The band consists of Peter van den Brock, Albert Detmer, Benny Weißert, Alexander Barth and Christian Barth.
history
The band was formed in 2001 after Peter Kempermann and Peter van den Brock separated from the Cologne-based mood band Die Kolibris (including Die Hands zum Himmel ). The first success for the Rabaue came with the title Auf die Stühle finished los , which entered the German single charts . In the following years the band played more than 4,000 gigs, also beyond the Rhineland. In addition to appearances in Australia and South Africa, the band is regularly on the road in Austria.
