General

The Citystudio Hannover was located at Hildesheimer Straße 29 near Aegidientorplatz . The regional studio was located at Marktstrasse 34 in Neustadt am Rübenberge . On January 19, 2011, the station changed the music direction and sound design under the slogan "1000 new songs for 2011". The realignment is moving towards oldie-based AC . This change led to temporary discussions both in local politics and among local cultural workers. In July 2014, program director Achim Wiese was dismissed. There was no official statement on this. On June 27, 2017, managing director Georg May, who had replaced Markus Mayer in 2012, was dismissed without notice. Shortly afterwards, program director Eike Buschmann also had to leave the station. The reasons for the layoffs are "financial irregularities" and "poor handling" with employees. On July 2, 2017, Andreas Spengler and Torsten Wichmann took over the interim management. Since then, the station has been in an educational phase.

Technical

The 300 watt strong transmitter sent from Telemax in Hannover from about 235 meters. Around 690,000 of the approximately 1.1 million inhabitants in the Hanover region were technically able to receive the program. The actual range fluctuated greatly due to the weather. The reception was possible in varying quality from the east to Braunschweig , in the south to Derneburg , in the west to the Deister and in the north to Verden . Regardless of this, reception as internet radio was possible.

radio leinehertz 106.5 broadcast an editorial program every day, which was designed by volunteers and freelance workers.

  • Good morning Hannover Region was the weekday morning broadcast. Hourly world news that is produced by the DPA , half-hourly regional news that is researched and broadcast live by the in-house news desk, weather and traffic conditions every 15 minutes and a large number of contributions, interviews and reports make the program an information magazine.
  • The daily magazines (9 am to 12 pm, 12 pm to 4 pm, 4 pm to 5 pm / 6 pm) presented music, presentations and articles on topics from the Hanover region. On certain occasions there were telephone interviews or studio guests who, for example, Sometimes also play live music in the studio. Every half an hour there was a "leinehertz highlight" where the diverse musical colors were to be shown and, above all, songs by regional artists were exclusively played and presented.
  • The world news on the hour was originally taken over by NDR Info , later produced specifically by the DPA . During the week there were half-hourly regional news between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. , which were researched by the in-house news desk and broadcast live.
  • The regional magazine was taken over by the editorial staff of the Neustadt regional studio on weekends (10 am–1pm) and was often broadcast from there. The program focused on topics from the Hanover region, including a weekly review.
  • What's going on in the Hanover region was a daily column in which a wide variety of current events in the Hanover region were presented. On weekdays these were broadcast at 1:10 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. Saturdays at 11:10 a.m. and 4:10 p.m. and on Sundays at 11:10 a.m.

Every citizen in the region could apply for one of these places with their program idea. The editorial responsibility always lay with the respective producers / editors of the show. An example of one of these numerous programs was the German-Russian program Russion4Life , in which the moderators report on Russian culture, language, politics and sport in the Russian-speaking area and in the Hanover region.

Allocation of the broadcast license

On 22 March 2007, the Assembly of the Lower Saxony State Media Authority (NLM) decided the broadcasting license of radio flora not to renew and re-tender from 1 April of 2009. The NLM justified this with the low level of audience acceptance on the national average. The 106,5 Rundfunkgesellschaft gGmbH iG applied for the broadcast license and received it with a decision of the NLM on November 6, 2008. The new broadcast operator is an association, the Lokalradio Neustadt eV , H1 (television) , the Förderverein Bürgerradio Hannover (FBH), the Hanover Volunteer Center , the Association of Evangelical Publishing Lower Saxony-Bremen GmbH (VEP) - formerly Lutherisches Verlagshaus GmbH (LVH) - and the Hanover region since 2012. The license was linked to annual funding of EUR 281,300 (up to 2016: EUR 262,500) from the NLM.

The operators named the new station Leinehertz 106einhalb , which was renamed radio leinehertz 106.5 in 2012 . The license was granted on April 1, 2009. A loop with self-advertising was broadcast until active broadcasting began on June 17, 2009.

Withdrawal of the broadcast license

On March 21, 2019, the Lower Saxony State Media Authority announced the revocation of the license for the public radio and the suspension of financial support as of April 1, 2019, after there were permanent deficiencies in accounting and the use of public funding. The Hanover region then gave the community radio almost 10,000 euros to have the revocation of the license examined by a court. The Hanover Administrative Court confirmed on 30 April 2019 the license withdrawal and delisting, which appeal before the Higher Administrative Court Lüneburg has been approved. This removed the economic basis for the community radio. The project is under preliminary insolvency administration. Also on April 30, 2019, the finance committee of the Hanover regional assembly dealt with a proposal for donations for the association Das Radio Leinehertz e. V.
