Ram Raiya
Ram Raiya or Ram Raia is a split off from the religious community of the Sikhs , which goes back to Ram Rai , the eldest son of Har Rai (1630–1661), the 7th guru of the Sikhs. After Guru Har Rai's death, Aurangzeb tried to install his own man. However, the Sikhs ignored this and proclaimed their own successor, Guru Tegh Bahadur . According to the Glossary of the Tribes and Castes of the Punjab and North-West Frontier Province , they have a strong presence in the Indian city of Haridwar .
