Council of Supreme Religious Scholars

The Council of Supreme Religious Scholars ( Arabic هيئة كبار العلماء, DMG Hayʾat Kibār al-ʿUlamāʾ ) or Council of High Scholarship etc. is the highest religious body of Saudi Arabia . Its president is the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Abd al-Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh . It was founded in 1971. A sub-organ of the Council is the Standing Committee for Scientific Investigations and Fatwa Issuance . ( al-Ladschna ad-Da'ima )
