After clear-cutting : felled spruce is waiting to be removed by a forwarder

Rauhbeuge (also Rauhbeige ) is a forestry technical term for stored short timber for the purpose of removal by a forwarder . The 1 to 3 m long logs are placed in piles by wood harvesters or manually on the side of the skidding lanes in such a way that the forwarder's crane gripper can grasp and load them.
