The Real Academia Nacional de Medicina in Madrid is a Spanish research and research funding institution founded on April 28, 1861. It is the successor organization to the Real Academia Médica Matritense, founded in 1734 .

The Academy awards prizes in various branches of medicine, organizes the relevant competitions and publishes scientific works and annals. It consists (as of 2007) of 50 full members, in addition there are honorary members and corresponding members.
