Flotsam on the inlet screens of hydraulic structures such as sewage treatment plants or power plants leads to functional restrictions or a reduction in performance. Regular cleaning of the floating debris screen is therefore necessary. The floating debris is removed with manual rakes or by machine. Trash rack cleaning machines are designed to be stationary or mobile. Frequent designs are telescopic rake cleaning machines or articulated rake cleaning machines. The screenings are often collected in channels above the floating debris screen and then disposed of.
