A Refjäger (short for referral hunter) is a user of an MLM system, especially of Internet offers of the Paid4 scene , which is characterized by the massive recruitment of referrals . Often the referrals are offered a fee by the ref hunter, mostly in online currencies. If the MLM system has several ref-levels , ref- hunters offer themselves against payment in the network and advertise new referrals in their first level in return for payment, which then appear on the second level with the client. To do this, the ref-hunter must register with the MLM system as the client's referral.

Another model arises in so-called refresh rallies , in which ref hunters are recruited to advertise as many referrals as possible to the client in the 1st level so that he wins the rally.
