Reich Minister of War
Reich Minister of War was the name of a minister who was responsible for the military.
In German history there were three officials with the designation:
- Eduard von Peucker was Reich Minister of War in the Provisional Central Authority from July 15, 1848 to May 16, 1849. His successor , August Ludwig zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg , served from May 24 to December 20, 1849.
- Werner von Blomberg was Reichswehr Minister from 1933 and Reich Minister of War from 1935. After the Blomberg-Fritsch affair in 1938 he lost his office and his ministry was transferred to the Wehrmacht High Command .
During the Empire there was no Reich Minister of War, only the war ministers of some German federal states such as Prussia.
