Reichspfleger was a title denoting a deputy to the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire . The tasks of such a deputy could for example consist in the administration of a certain area ( Reichspflege / Reichspflegschaft ) or the implementation of a certain mission or measure. The heads of the free imperial cities subordinate to the emperor were also called Reichspfleger.
