Repack

Repack named the American mountain bike pioneers around Gary Fisher , Joe Breeze among other things the descents with modified bicycles from the 850 m high Mount Tamalpais in California , United States . Therefore, the name is derived that the drum brake hubs of the wheels so heated on the slopes by constant braking that the lubricant evaporated and replenished in the target ( English repacked ) are needed.

During the races, the bicycles, mostly of the Schwinn Cruiser type, were modified to such an extent that they became the mountain bike we know today . Because of his commitment to developing these first converted bikes, many consider Gary Fisher to be the father of the mountain bike .
