resident was a music magazine with a strong focus on the German-speaking drum and bass scene. In general, resident encompassed the genres Drum and Bass , Grime , Dubstep , Breakcore and Nu: Breakz .

resident appeared quarterly in an edition of 5000 copies and was distributed via record shops and kiosks in Austria and Germany. The magazine comprised approx. 80 pages and an exclusively mixed audio CD from a well-known record label as a free supplement .

MixCDs: Phunkfiction , Urban Poetry , U3R , Camino Blue , Basswerk , Santorin , Black Sun Empire , Position Chrome .

The residents editors were made up of around 30 volunteers. According to their own definition, the magazine was created by a decentralized reaction team in Germany and Austria. It defined itself as an Austrian magazine only through the editor-in-chief residing in Vienna. The editor-in-chief was made up of Michaela Holy, Alexander Dechant and Barbara Wimmer.

With the appearance of the twelfth edition and after three years, resident was given up on November 17, 2008 for financial reasons.
