Resonance energy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Resonance energy is a term that is used for various energy levels, differences and amounts in connection with resonance phenomena. Common are:

  • In a quantum mechanical or electromagnetic system the energy of a particle wave, which as part of a resonance absorption or emission of a resonance frequency corresponding to the same time so that the difference between two excitation states
  • In a chemical resonance structure (mesomerism) the difference between the real energy level and the average energy level of the fictitious boundary structures
