Giant lemurs

As a giant lemurs are called several extinct primate species from Madagascar . However, this designation is not systematic. Giant lemurs all became significantly larger than the primates living there today and died out as a result of human colonization.

  • Megaladapis or "Koalalemuren"
• Subfamily Palaeopropithecinae or "sloth lemurs"
  • Palaeopropithecus
  • Archaeoindris
