Ring doctor

A ring doctor is mainly used as a doctor when boxing on the boxing ring . The term is also used in some other martial arts .

Situation in Germany

In order to work as a ring doctor in Germany, special training must be completed.

education

In order to work as a ring doctor in a boxing match, you have to undergo a special training course lasting several days as a ring doctor. This training can only be completed by a licensed doctor.

In these courses, participants are trained in special medical aspects of boxing as well as the safe handling of injuries and emergency situations.

The qualification as a ring doctor entitles the participant to be medically active in boxing events.

tasks

In amateur boxing , the activity of the ring doctor is not only regulated in § 22 of the competition regulations of the German Boxing Association ( DBV , formerly DABV), but also in a separate regulation "The ring doctor in amateur boxing".
