Robert R. Locke

Robert R. Locke (born February 19, 1932 in Montebello ) is an American historian , economist and professor ( emeritus ) for business history .

Life

Robert R. Locke was born on February 19, 1932 in Montebello to John W. Locke and his wife Kathrine Locke (née Petty).

He was with the US Air Force from 1949 to 1952 .

From 1953 he studied at the University of California , where he received a bachelor's degree in 1956. In 1965 he also received his doctorate there . He was a Fulbright Scholar and worked in both Germany and England. Since 1974 he has been at the University of Hawaii Manoa currently serves as Emeritus Professor operate. He has also taught at the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management in Brussels, the London School of Economics and the University of Reading .

Locke is married for the second time and has two children.

Robert R. Locke's research focuses on the history of management education in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, and Japan. His work, some of which has also been published in German, is considered to be groundbreaking for the comparison between business administration and American management theory . In particular, they influence the way German business education is viewed in English-speaking countries.
