Roland Palmer

Roland Palmer is a German chemist and China expert, his specialty is nanotechnology .

Palmer worked from 1970 to 1978 in a research group at Hoechst AG , then was professor for industrial organic chemistry at the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim until 2000. There he was, among other things, project manager of the research project " Synthesis of photochromic compounds of the Spiropyran class". There were also frequent contacts with Chinese organizations and companies during the time at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences . He worked as a technical advisor in various Chinese provinces. It was only in November 2005 that he returned from Shanghai from his last official stay in China . Since his retirement he has been holding events and lectures on the subject of "China".

In the meantime he was also chairman of the Society for German-Chinese Friendship.
