Retirement insurance

The rest insurance (max. 18 months after decommissioning) in the motor insurance ensures that insurance cover is also provided for decommissioned vehicles. If the vehicle is unauthorized - e.g. B. by theft - is used and a liability damage is caused, the insurer pays damages, which is the last to deposit an insurance confirmation with the registration office. If there was a comprehensive insurance (fully or partially comprehensive) at the time of decommissioning, it is valid for a period of max. 18 months also partially comprehensive insurance cover (except for caravan trailers). There is no retirement insurance if the period between registration and cancellation is less than 14 days. The retirement insurance is free of charge.

In principle, vehicles may not be parked on public roads or squares during the retirement insurance period (this also applies to seasonal license plates outside the season).
