- December 31st - Several broadcasters end their broadcasting on medium wave at the end of 2011: Evangeliums-Rundfunk sets its broadcasts to 1539 kHz and only broadcasts its programs via cable networks, satellite, DAB + and via live streams on the Internet. Südwestrundfunk will cease operations on the Ulm-Jungingen station on December 30th. WDR 2 ends its digital broadcasts on 1593 kHz.
