  • January 9 - The Russian state broadcaster WGTRK switches off all remaining longwave frequencies in Russia with the exception of the programs broadcast for Chechnya from the Tbilisskaya location . Most recently, only the Radio Rossii program was broadcast across Russia over numerous longwave frequencies, the other longwave frequencies of the other two state programs, Radio Mayak and the youth broadcaster YuFM had already been switched off.
  • Jan. 14 - With the production of snow by Bernd Bechtloff starts on Ö1 the radio play Homemade . Works by independent authors will be presented.
