Acid pointer

As acid pointer plants are called, which only on soils with a certain value pH can thrive. These plants show the acidity of the soil. The heather ( Calluna vulgaris ), for example, lives in acidic soils. With this, sweet grasses like the golden fescue grass ( Festuca paniculata ), or the sheep fescue , which occurs widespread in northern to central Europe , like to join plants . The real sheep fescue, named for the species group of sheep fescue ( Festuca ovina agg.), Prefers loose, drained soils poor in base and is therefore also an acid indicator.
