Morelle

Morelle or Vistula ( Prunus cerasus Austera group, syn. Prunus cerasus var. Austera L. ) is the name of a stone fruit . It is a group of sour cherries ( Prunus cerasus ). The dark red to black colored fruits are characterized by their dark colored pulp and intensely colored juice. The morello variety is particularly well-known .

Varieties with light-colored flesh are grouped together in the amarella or glass cherries group ( Prunus cerasus Caproniana group).
