Southern stem burner

The Southern Stem burner (or anthracnose of red clover) is a through the Ascomycetes trifolii Colletotrichum induced plant disease , the red clover ( Trifolium pratense ), and alfalfa ( Medicago sativa ) attacks. In warmer areas it is a dangerous disease of legumes. In Switzerland, it is increasingly taking away from the clover cancer its position as the most important clover disease. It is also spreading increasingly in Germany. In the United States, it was overcome by breeding resistant varieties.
