Sahana
Sahana is an integrated collection of collaborative , internet-based software solutions that can be used in the event of a regional and / or global disaster , especially afterwards. It is free open source software ( FOSS ).
The system currently consists of the following main components:
- Situation mapping system
- Missing Persons Register
- Affected Register
- Organization directory
- Emergency shelter directory
- Helper management system
- Demand management system
- Warehouse directory
Around 60 active developers worldwide are working on this project, which has its origins in the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake in Sri Lanka . In 2006 it was awarded the Free Software Award for Projects of Social Benefit .
