The Saloon No. 10 is a saloon in Deadwood , which became famous for the murder of western hero James "Wild Bill" Hickok .

history

The saloon was founded by William Nuttall and Tom Miller. On August 2, 1876, Wild Bill Hickok was shot from behind by Jack McCall while playing poker.

Saloon No 10 originally stood at 624 Main Street, but it was destroyed to the ground in the great city fire in 1879. From 1898 to 1903 the saloon was in the IH Chase Building.

The saloon has been located at 657 Main Street since 1938 and is still a popular tourist attraction in Deadwood. The building is used as a museum and as a restaurant. The saloon is also called Nuttall & Mann’s after its owners .
