The Sandelsche Museum in Kirchberg an der Jagst is the local history museum supported by the city. It has been housed in the old school since 1972/73 , a baroque building from 1748. In 2004 it was reopened with a new exhibition concept.

Namesake was the judge-martial Theodor Sandel (1861-1927), who transferred his valuable collection to the city. It was opened in 1930. Other foundations: furniture and objects by the writer Georg Harro Schaeff-Scheefen and his wife, weapons and trophies from Cameroon, collected by the colonial officer Freiherr Kurt von Crailsheim.
